For decades the politicians of the three-party gang who dominate the House of Commons, have sold the line that it is inevitable that Britain will become more closey 'integrated' with the undemocratic and unaccountable European Union.

in 2005, both France and Holland rejected the European Constitution in favour of retaining inherent sovereignty but it was predicted then that the European Constitution would be back in a different form but essentially still the same devious project. Changing a few words, or paraphrasing, does not alter the meaning or content of this 'document'.

Gordon Brown is facing increasing pressure from an angry electorate to ensure Labour's election manifesto pledge to hold a referendum on the 'new' EU Treaty is held to prevent the hated treaty being foisted on us through the back door.

The Treaty, which is for the most part unintelligible, its deliberate purpose to cause confusion, would transfer many of Britain's powers over migration, energy and transport to Brussels. And there are serious concerns also over national security given the fact that EU has an appalling record on terrorism. It is planned to 'incorporate' Britain's professional armed forces into a largely conscript European Army.

Over the last 50 years our sovereignty has been frittered away surreptitiously to the Common Market and then to its intended progeny the Federalist European Union. This latest 'treaty' is mere window-dressing and the British people must be given an opportunity to vote on this fundamentally historic issue in a referendum.

News Alliance is completely in favour of close political and economic ties with our European neighbours but we oppose the European Union in its entirety. We urge our readers and supporters to petition sitting MPs to call for a referendum on this European Union Constitution designed to tear down national borders and allow unregulated mass immigration across the EU. What we have experienced thus far in terms of mass immigration is a pale reflection of what is coming!
