Top Asian police officer blames radicals in NBPA for exaggerating racism 'crisis'
Mak Chishty................................Ali Dizaei...................................Tarique Ghaffur
One of Britain's top Asian policeman has launched a thinly-veiled attack on his militant colleagues who claim that the force is riddled with racism every time one of them does not get a promotion.
Chief Superintendent Mak Chishty - a prominent figure in the National Black Police Association (NBPA) - rejects claims that black and Asian officers are held back in their careers and his statement at last blows a huge hole in the racism card played by his colleagues to get what they want.
The Muslim Supt. said huge progress had been made over the past ten years to ensure that he and other ethnic minority officers were treated fairly and equally. He spoke out after the extreme-left BBC claimed in a Panorama 'documentary' that a substantial number of minority officers suffer racism in the workplace.
As the pseudo-documentary, actually a propaganda stunt, was being broadcast, the Met branch of the NBPA called for black and Asian potential recruits to boycott a force 'where racism is allowed to spread'. But no mention was made of the fact that most of the alleged 'racism' is a complete fiction.
Mr Chishty said: 'I don't feel I have ever been held back. My career has not come without its challenges, but I have been supported through this. I have not suffered any abuse from my colleagues, nor has anything prejudicial been written down. My own experience in the force has been very good.'
His damning commentary on the shady activities of the NBPA came as Scotland Yard is embroiled in a period of unprecedented racial turmoil, created by Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur over his failure to get another promotion.
And another embittered senior ethnic officer, Commander Ali Dizaei - the outspoken 'president' of the NBPA - was suspended last month over allegations of misconduct.
But Mr Chisty in his capacity as chairman of the Warwickshire branch of the NBPA has offered a different perspective on the racism issue and the picture is one of leftist radicals exploiting racisim for personal gain.
Mr Chishty, whose younger brother is an inspector in Warwickshire Police, attacked the NBPA's call for a recruitment boycott.
He said: 'Of course it is counter-productive. I can't see how it is going to be helpful in any way for people of a minority ethnic background not to join the police. I think it is absolutely essential to actively encourage people to join the police as officers, staff, PCSOs, specials or volunteers. We should give them support and encouragement to ensure they are well prepared to pass the entrance exams, but the level of competence must be the same for everyone'.
Mr Chishty also expressed deep concern about the increasing Marxist militancy of the National Black Police Association. He said: 'I have to say that I am very disappointed with the direction of some of the leaders of the national executive of the NBPA. It is absolutely right to challenge unacceptable behaviour, be it racist, sexist or whatever. But this should be done in a constructive way. However a very public and adversarial position has been adopted on certain issues, such as the high-profile race claims which have come to the fore in recent months.'
Asked whether the leadership of the NBPA had been hijacked by left-wing extremists, he said: 'I can see why some people might see it that way. I know a lot of black and minority ethnic colleagues who have achieved lots of personal and professional goals. They are proud of what they have done and deserve to be recognised for their hard work and efforts. They don't in any way want others to think they have simply been given it because of the colour of their skin.'
Mr Chisty's damning revelations of the realities governing the objectives and motives of the NBPA will be a cause of shock to some people. But he should be applauded for his honesty and bravery in speaking out against Marxist radicalism in the NBPA.
The 41-year-old Asian copper got to where he is on merit and not by screaming racism everytime an application for promotion went against him. But the message is now clear that the NBPA has been hijacked by Marxist radicals and they will not stop until Britain has been turned into just another tin-pot banana republic riddled with corruption and incompetence in public life....
Actually, some might argue Britain is already a banana republic after 11 catastrophic years of the institutionally corrupt New Labour regime.
